Classes - Special Needs

Here at Pinewood we try our best to integrate many children with additional needs into our weekday gymnastics classes, however, in addition to this, we run 2 different types of Special Needs classes on Sundays for childred aged 6-16yrs.

We have a session for children and teenagers who attend with a parent or helper. This loosely structured class uses all our apparatus and members have the option of working towards our Award Scheme to earn Pinewood cloth badges. This class operates on a pay-as-you-go basis but all participants must hold Pinewood membership and current British Gymnastics membership (available through the club).

For those who need a little more independence, we also have classes on Sundays with a low coach to gymnast ratio suitable for gymnasts ready to participate without a 1-2-1 parent / helper. This class used all our apparatus, including Award Scheme work and is paid on a termly basis.

Our highly equipped facility boasts a sprung floor, large foam pit, competition size trampoline and inflatable air track designed to challenge and improve one’s balance, strength, flexibility, co-ordination, agility and confidence.
