
With two gyms, Pinewood can rightly boast to having one of the very finest purpose built gyms in the south of England. Special features include an International standard tumble track, a 6m fast track into pit and a sunken trampoline. We also have FIG competition standard equipment for Women’s Artistic including asymmetric bars over a foam pit and onto a landing area, competition and training beams, a vault with 25m run up and a competition sprung floor.

Our club has an outstanding reputation for excellence, producing Olympic & Commonwealth Games athletes, World, European & National Champions, and numerous National Team members. Many gymnasts have also progressed into Cirque du Soleil and professional stunt work.

Club Squad
Club squad are a competitive group who take part in various competitions. Within the competition they compete an individual floor routine and a vault. There are 4 Club squad groups categorized depending on their age and ability. These are Blue, Bronze, Silver and Gold. We also offer our Bronze, Silver and Gold groups the opportunity to compete in micro Team Gym competition. Within the last few years we have had teams reach the National Finals and had great success at Micro TeamGym competitions.
This group is designed to give children a chance to experience competitions at a club level, to challenge themselves and to be part of a fun team environment. Head of Club Squad , Sam Willis and a team of coaches manage all groups.
Development Squad
Children who show a special aptitude for gymnastics are selected for the development groups. The Development programme puts our enthusiastic budding gymnasts through 2 stages which aims to physically and mentally prepare young gymnasts for the sport of gymnastics.
Gymnasts move on from the Development programme into both our Recreational and Squad programmes well prepared for the task ahead. Katie Southey is the Head of Development assisted by Ellie Geofferson and Pat Meadowcroft.
Tumbling Squad
Tumbling is an extremely exciting discipline to watch. Pinewood Tumbling squad has built a reputation as one of the very best tumbling clubs in the country and we are fortunate to have an extremely talented and successful group of Tumblers. Our impressive history of results includes titles won at British, European and World Championships. The Tumbling discipline is managed by Josh Hunter.
Womens Artistic Squad
Women’s Artistic Gymnastics remains one of biggest crowd pleasers and most watched sports at the Olympic Games. Its fascination and popularity amongst girls of all ages lies in its ability to provide constant challenge and teach body control, co-ordination, amplitude and courage. The Women’s Artistic squad have been hugely successful this year boasting County, Regional, National and International results. We have Regional and National squad members. Women’s Artistic is managed by Head of Discipline, and also Director of Coaching Natalie Reeve, alongside senior coaches, Nyah Reddyhough, Claire Stevens, Katie Southey, Kira Cosgrove. We are also very lucky to have Bernadette Baigrie, a past Pinewood International gymnast as our Choreographer to our elite gymnasts.
The facilities and programs on offer at Pinewood are supported by highly qualified and experienced coaches working with a strong team of part-time assistant coaches.
